By-Laws


Ratified Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

 
Section 1 – Member in Good Standing – A regular member in good standing is anyone who qualifies under Article III, Section 1; has been elected under Article III, Section 3; whose membership is not currently suspended; who has not been expelled; who is current on all required membership dues; and who has attended at least one (1) event during the preceding three (3) months, unless given a waiver by the Executive Board for remaining active in the Organization while away for an extended period for school, work or vacation.

Section 2 – Initiation Fees and Dues – No initiation fee shall be required; no dues shall be required. Members shall be encouraged to support the Organization through voluntary membership dues of twenty-five (25) dollars per year.

Section 3 – Time and Place of Meetings – The Organization shall hold a minimum of one (1) business meeting per quarter. When held, business meetings will be on the second Tuesday of the month at the Lake County Republican Office, 320 Peterson Road, Libertyville, IL. Non-business meetings may be held at any suitable time and location determined by the Executive Board.

Section 4 – Notice of Meetings – Notice of meetings of the general membership shall include notice of election and removal of officers, proposed changes in the constitution or bylaws of the organization, the minutes of Executive Board and general membership meetings, and general policy questions to be discussed or acted upon. The Recording Secretary shall be responsible for ensuring proper notification is made.

Section 5 – Ad Hoc Committees – The Executive Board may from time to time appoint and dissolve ad hoc committees.

Section 6 – Parliamentary Authority – The parliamentary authority for the Organization shall be the most recent edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised.

Section 7 – Amendments – The bylaws of this Organization may be amended upon an affirmative majority vote of the regular members in good standing assembled in quorum at a meeting of the general membership.
