In the 80's(I'm too old to be a YR), it was a matter of fact according to mainstream media sources that by thr year 2000 most of the land mass would be frozen over because of "fluorocarbons" and we wouldn't be able to produce enough food to feed our quickly overpopulating country. We should also"take steps to curb our Population" here in the US, after all China and many other countries were doing their part for population control. See this stuff goes in cycles and it's hard to decifer fact from fiction, unfortunately at our expense! People with nefarious agendas hop on bandwagons all over the world to promote them.
